Introduction
Bacchus Japan Tune-up Series

The Japan Tune-up Series (commonly abbreviated as the “JT Series”) is a lineup with a focus on playability that has been carefully tuned and set up by a specialized team in our local Matsumoto City, in Nagano Prefecture, that focuses on maximizing playability and all aspects that would improve the player’s experience. Inheriting the spirit of the Bacchus Handmade Series that started in 2001, the JT Series offers players instruments that are in top condition straight out of the box and ready to tackle any challenge.
Spalted maple that radiates uniqueness
The most distinctive feature of this model is the -spalted maple- used for the top material. “Spalted” is a term used to describe wood that has developed a characteristic pattern as a result of decay caused by bacteria and other factors in nature. Spalted wood is often used for decorative purposes in handicrafts, and has a different feel from the more common flamed and quilted woods.

Instead of a glossy finish, a matte finish with an extremely thin layer of paint is used. Compared to a standard finish with a thicker coating, the matte finish transmits the string vibration more directly to the body.
WOODLINE-style slim body

It inherits the downsized body shape of the high-end WOODLINE series, which was developed for the Handmade series. The body is slightly slimmer than a typical JB-type electric bass, which provides excellent playability. Black binding is applied around the perimeter of the body to give it a high-class, tight look.
Custom brass neck backplate

This model features an original brass neck plate with high specific gravity used at the joint. The bass tone is made heavier than conventional models and extends into the mid to low range with a dense, full tone.
Standard WOODLINE Series Turbo Switch

The “turbo switch” common to the WOODLINE models is also featured on this model. Pulling up the tone knob turns on the turbo switch, which connects two single pickups in series to produce a fat humbucking pickup-like sound. (*When the turbo switch is on, the volume is adjusted with the front Vol knob. The rear Vol knob is bypassed.)
Roasted maple neck with increased rigidity

The popular roasted maple neck, a new Bacchus standard, is also used in this model. The heat treatment not only makes the neck highly rigid and resistant to warping but also produces an aged sound with a good attack.
