A 2010 Fender Custom Shop Rory Gallagher Stratocaster. Built in Corona, California as a tribute to the most worn-in Strat in rock history — Rory's own early-sixties sunburst, stripped back to bare wood by years of sweat and non-stop touring.
What makes this one: the Custom Shop recreated Rory's guitar wear-for-wear, so the three-tone sunburst survives only in patches around the edges and back, with bare, weathered wood everywhere else. Rosewood fretboard with clay dots, mint green pickguard, aged three-single-coil set, vintage-style tremolo and aged hardware throughout. It plays and sounds like a guitar that has already been broken in, because in every way that matters, it has.
Paperwork: comes with its original Fender Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity, dated 21 September 2010 and signed by Custom Shop director Mike Eldred. Serial R53782 on the certificate matches the neck plate. Supplied in its Fender Custom Shop hardshell case.
